The Scorpions had started to a new big russian tournament after 2002 when they went through the whole big Russia with the AOL Living Tour.
This Samara show was the third station on the tour after St.Petersburg and Rostov-On-Don. The setlist is incredible! They changed so much after the last year and added so songs what the Scorps haven't played from the Face The Heat tour in 1993-1994. The "Alien Nation" and "No Pain No Gain" are great heavy songs what were very popular and success in the middle of 90's. The band changed the last 'end-song' also. They put back the "A Moment In A Million Years" after 9 years again. This was the epilogue in the eye II Eye european tour and now there is in the tracklist again instead of "When The Smoke Is Going Down". One of the biggest suprises is the "Living For Tomorrow" what the band played just because of the russian fans. This song was only in Leneingrad (now St.Petersburg) in 1988 when the Scorpions stepped through the sovjet border at very first time. There were 16 concerts in Leneingrad at the Lenin Stadium in full houses!!! The first plan was that the Scorpions will play 8 shows in Moscow and other 8 in Leningrad but the soviet goverment cancelled the Moscow plans and changed all of them to Leneingrad. Well, here made this song what never played in studio version. Just in a single maxi cd and a promotional one track single what made for a jeans (Mustang) commercial in the beginning of 90's. The other biggest suprise is the "Hey You" what is Rudolf's own song. This track released only in a single and in a compilation cd in 1989. The Scorps never played in live before! The band stayed the 3 new songs from Humanity what they had played in the 2007 shows. Besides James' solo changed a little bit. Because not just him playes on drums. The whole band connected to him and jam a drum solo together! Amazing! The stage design had been changed also! There is not the big transparent behind the stage anymore. There is a new big screen where are different videos under the show. Great!
The performance is great. (maybe Rudy should has to practice "Hey You" much more) The band is still with full of energy and the audience breath together by them. Great atmosphere! |
