Comment:

Scorpions played in the famous and historical Wacken Rock Festival in front of 60.000 people. One of the longest concert what I heard about and I have. The show got a name?A Night To Remember. There were special guests on it like Michael Schenker, Tyson Schenker (Rudy's son), Uli Jon Roth and Herman Rarebell. Uli played with the band again after the "Colmar Tapes". I affraded that the setlist will be the same as in Colmar but my fear was gratuitous. They played so amazing old songs like 'Speedy's Coming', 'Dark Lady', 'Pictured Life' and 'In Search Of The Piece Of Mind' what they haven't played after the japanese tour in 1978. All ex-members had an own block where they played so songs what they made as a band members. Michael was amazing in 'Coast To Coast' just like in 'Lovedrive' or 'Another Piece Of Meat'. Herman played drums in Blackout and the song got new influence from him. We can listen to the classic Herman style what suggest to the early 80's. My favourite track on this show is 'He's A Woman - She's A Man'. This is a tipical "delight-music". Michael, Uli and Rudy played an own solo in the middle of the song so they did about 8-9 minutes the jam. There is a mistake in 'Dynamite' because there should been a problem with the adjustment of the guitars. The bass and the vocal were in same tone but the guitars were discordant. So Klaus sings this sons as an acapella. Just the drums and him. At the second half of the song the guitars also latch on to the music.

Quality:

One of the best quality show in my collection. The concert was in live at the official Wacken Radio what I could record across the internet in soundboard stereo quality. The connection was perfect so there is not break in the show. Somwhere the audience is too low because of the microphones. James' backing vocal microphone had been strong enough only in the middle of 'Bad Boys Running Wild'. On the whole this material is one of the perfect concert in my collection and I usually listen to it. Incredible stuff.
