Comment:

"Hello, how are you, OK we start now" this is Klaus's introduductions to this great gig, then the opening tracks 'All Night Long' 'Pictured Life' and 'Backstage Queen' are exactly the same opening to the classic Tokyo Tapes recordings. But this gig from the industrial heartland of England, was almost a year before the Japanese platter and the overall set list reflects this slightly earlier period, 'They Need A Million', 'Polar Nights', 'In Trance', then the awesome "Fly To The Rainbow" send the crowd into raptures, 'Rock 'n' Roll Queen' was a song that Uli, Rudy and Klaus had thrown together at a previous gig and is not much more than a Jam between band to fill time and allow Klaus a break, but once again the crowd are right behind the band and appreciate Uli's intricate guitar work. Klaus returns to the stage for 'Catch Your Train', then 'Top Of The Bill'. This leads us into the rock & roll set the scorpions used to use to get the crowd going at this time in thier career, and reflects Klaus and Rudy's early influences. 'Hound Dog' and 'Long Tall Sally' were both originally hits in 1956, the outro of the latter also includes Klaus thanking the gig organiser (tour manager). This leads us into 'Dark Lady' the crowd sing for the band to do one more over and over stamping and banging, Rudy screams then thanks the crowd then the gig is wrapped up with the Scorpions very own heavier version of rock and roll, in 'Robot Man', a great rock track to finish a great rock gig.
You can clearly hear the crowds comments throughout the concert, and this adds to the atmosphere without detracting from the quality of the sound, for instance at the end of 'Dark Lady' someone shouts "Hurry up" while the band returns to the stage and tunes up, then someone shouts "last bus to westhope" this is typical Lancashashire humour in a typical Lancashire accent. (Thanks Brian!)
I found this show with wrong place in other traders' website. Some people thinks that the concert was in London or Bolton. The result is a third place, Lancastershire. The venue is the Bolton University Institute.

Quality:

Super audience quality recording!!! The best one what I have got in my collection from the early 70's. The best material of Uli's era. All instruments are very clear and the sound is f...ing great of the recording. I think it's an upgraded material.
